Cashion Fishing Rods was founded in 2010 by Dr. Matthew Cashion. Dr. Cashion holds a Ph.D. in chemistry with a concentration in polymer science from Virginia Tech. His research expertise focuses on advanced adhesives and continuous fiber systems. As Dr. Cashion explains, the composite interface is the most critical junction in a fishing rod blank, how carbon fibers bond with the epoxy matrix directly impacts both flexural strength and compression strength. In short, performance starts at the molecular level.
